Starcraft 2 Zerg Vs Protoss - Beating Immortals

Comments (0)

One of the favorite units of a Protoss player is the immortal. Most Zerg players are cluelesss about how to take these guys down since they do such huge damage. The immortal has a few unique things about it that we need to talk about so we can understand how to beat it. First, the immortal has a special shield that will only let it take 10 damage per hit and anything over 10 damage is deflected. What does this mean to us? We can't use high damge units to fight an immortal. Second, the immortal does huge bonus damage to armored units so we must not send out armored units to fight it either.

Not understanding these things about the immortal has caused most Zerg players to just make a bunch of roaches and send them to their dealth against the immortal. Little do these Zerg players know that the roach is the worst possible unit to go up against the immortal because the roaches damage will be capped at 10 and the roach is armored so it will take massive hits from the immortals. So now that we know not to use roaches, what should we use? I would recommend staying away from hydralisks as well because some of the hydralisks damge will be deflected. Instead go back to the basics, speed upgraded zerglings are the perfect unit for crushing the immortals. Starcraft 2 has a funny way of bringing back the starting units and making them useful again later in the game and this is an example of that.

So when you see immortals coming toward you, pop out some zerglings and you should have no trouble handling them, plus if the Protoss player uses zealots to back up the immortals you get a double bonus because zerglings also do very well against zealots.

Becoming an advanced Starcraft 2 player is very challenging and confusing. I purchased the Starcraft 2 Advanced Strategy Guide from Star2Pros.com and I have been very impressed with the strategies they teach. I would highly recommend it to any Starcraft 2 player who wants to get to the top of the Diamond Ladders, I think this guide might be the only one of its kind. Anyways, good luck to all of you and I hope to see you on BattleNet!
