When you play Starcraft 2 as Zerg it is very important to know which units you should build in order to counter your opponent's attacks. This guide will show you how to build the right units at the right time in order to defeat your enemy. The is a general guide and is not for advanced players.
When you play against Terran there are you a few units you have to watch out for and correctly counter in order to win. The first is the dreaded marine marauder combo that most Terran players love to use these days. The Zerg counter to this is simple, banelings and zerglings. The banelings will take out entire groups of marines and marauders without much trouble and the zerglings will clean up the leftovers. Another unit you need to watchout for is the thor. The Zerg counter to this is an infestor, use the infestor to take control of the thor and turn it against the Terran player. You will also need to watchout for the early reaper attack. The Zerg counter for this is to make zerglings early and get them speed upgrade in the spawning pool going as soon as you can. Your zerglings will be faster then the reaper so you can just chase them down and kill them all before they get back to their base.
Now lets talk about playing against Protoss. The Protoss may use a zealot and stalker combo in which case you should again build an army of banelings and zerglings to take them out. If he makes colossus you should build infestors and take control of it. He may make immportals in which case you should stay away from making roaches and hydros and build speed upgraded zerglings as they make short work of the immortals. He may go air with the void rays and if he does this the perfect Zerg counter is corruptors. Don't make mutalisks as they fall way to quickly to stalkers and are a waste of gas.
Learn these Zerg counters and you should have no trouble beating even a diamond ladder Protoss or Terran player!
Becoming an advanced Starcraft 2 player is very challenging and confusing.
