Protoss vs Protoss is a classic battle of wits. Playing as the Protoss race is all about countering your opponent's attacks with the perfect units. Of course when you are playing against another Protoss player you must always be one step ahead of him to win. This guide will give you the basics of beating a Protoss player in a 1v1 game.
Your base unit is going to be the zealot and you will build from there depending on which units your enemy throws at you. Make sure you scout as much as you can and check to see if he is building air such as void rays. If he is then you should build a bunch of stalkers and you will have no trouble taking them down. If he is using a lot of zealots and stalkers then pump out a few colossus to handle that, just make sure you keep a few zealots to shield the colossus from attacks. If he decided to use some colossus himself you should build a few immortals as they will make short work of the colossus. Always try to scout him and see what is coming. If you see dark templars coming then you will need to make an observer as fast as you can to detect them. If he is dumb enough to try and make carriers then just build up your army and attack his base while is low on defense because all the minerals are going toward building the carriers.
Defeating Protoss is pretty straightforward, as you just need to build the correct counters to handle what he is doing. If you follow this guide and learn the strengths of your units, you will have no trouble beating a good Protoss player. Good luck and I hope to see you on battlenet soon!
Becoming an advanced Starcraft 2 player is very challenging and confusing. I purchased the Starcraft 2 Advanced Strategy Guide from Star2Pros.com and I have been very impressed with the strategies they teach. I would highly recommend it to any Starcraft 2 player who wants to get to the top of the Diamond Ladders, I think this guide might be the only one of its kind.
Anyways, good luck to all of you and I hope to see you on BattleNet!
